I was Bombed

Once.
In seventh grade.

Dane, chill out a little.

Everyone,

We have a lot of fun on this listserv; share some laughs, grow as
friends and individuals, come of age (whatever that means),…watch
green porno. However, something is “happening” today that can only be
addressed in a frank and serious manner.

Some of humanities most devastating discoveries, like anthrax and
spam, have occured by accident. When the Blair Witch Project was
released it was intended to be a low grossing film made on a shoe
string budget—respected for its arthouse elements that allow you to
overlook its glaring failures. Unfortunately though, it also stumbled
on to the Achillies’ heel of American pop culture. Specifically,
clever market and branding.

Now bad movies are intentionally made on a low budget, then “packaged”
to taste and released to the public. After opening weekend, hapless
movie-goers that fell for the pretty looking trap (“Meet the Spartans,
that could be funny”) mercifully warn their freinds not to make the
same mistake. By now though, the film has grossed 50 mil and the
studio has made a healthy profit.

M. Night Shalyman thinks your stupid and he’s winning this race to the
bottom. His movies are marketing gimmicks (even the sixth sense). His
mastercard commercial was poorly done.

He is the abusive boyfriend of the film industry. Everytime he smacks
us in the eye socket, we come back for more. We say this time will be
different, he’s changed…we’re lying to ourselves. Every time we come
home to that cine-plex it will be the same, its a pattern; he will
questions our intelligence and degrad our self esteem with obvious
plot twists and then he will leave us feeling unfulfilled-wondering
where our money has gone.

Fool me once, shame on you fool me with obvious garbage like “The
Village” and “Unbreakable” shame on me. If you go see The Happening, I
will fight you. Do not give that shister another dime and ridicule
your dumber friends who are anxiously anicipating the drop of this
turd.

Please, do not see this film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0949731/
